Rude Toys News

6/58/08 : New Name - New Material - New Bass

We've been busy reworking the band over the last few months, and there have been many changes.

First, we are changing the band name to Raising Scarlet . Look for the new website RaisingScarlet.com coming soon. Until then you can check us out and be our friend on myspace at myspace.com/raisingscarlet .

Along with the name change we are updating our set list. We will continue to play many of the old Rude Toys originals, but are working on new songs and are incorporating a variety of cover songs into our repertoire. With this we'll be playing out more often and doing full night shows rather than single set gigs. This means more chances to see the band, and more music when you do - can't beat that!

Last but certainly not least bassist Mike Solis has joined the band. He's jumped right in and has been a great addition to the line-up. He'll be making his debut appearance with the band tonight at the Chit Chat in Haverhill... so don't miss it!

Rude Toys CDs will continue to be available at shows and online, and we plan to be putting out new recordings as Raising Scarlet in the near future. Come check out the new and improved band - you'll like what you see & hear!

One other name change in the band - Tammy Schatz became Tammy Myles on June 14th when her and Mike tied the knot in Newburyport, MA. Thanks to the Bobby Keyes trio and all our friends that came out to celebrate the big event. It was a great start to a wonderful life together.

10/19/07 : Rude Toys is on the air!!!

Discount Lovers - track 1 off the latest Rude Toys CD "Feel No Guilt" was featured last night on Rock 101 WGIR Manchester's Homegrown segment. Big thanks go out to Ionis for featuring us and plugging our upcoming gigs at Dover Brick House (Oct. 20th) and Bourbon's (Oct. 27th).

Now that Rock 101 WGIR has the new CD and have put it on the air we need our fans to request to hear it more. If you're in the WGIR listening area make a request to hear Discount Lovers by Rude Toys - or pick your favorite track. Every request and play on the air helps... so don't wait!

08/07/07 : Live Free or Die... but don't play your music too loud!!!

Rude Toys joined forces with Plugg & Jack White and his boys to have a Rockin' Labor Day weekend celebration at Mount Deception campgrounds - up in the White Mountains, in the shadow of Mount Washington.

Saturday night was Plugg at Camp Cunningham... Sunday was Jack White's band (with some guest performers) and Rude Toys (with Plugg's Dana Henderson sitting in on drums - sounded awesome!) up at the White House. It was fun for all with camp fires and a killer fireworks show Sunday night - but some of the neighbors down the road weren't as enamored with Rude Toys as the Mt. Deception campers - and the NH State Police came and shut Rude Toys down just as we were warming up. :(

Thanks to CJ and all the folks that had us up, let us jam, and grooved to the music. We hope to be back come Memorial Day to kick off next summer... louder than ever!!! :)

Live Free and Rock Loud!!!

Rude Toys: Feel No Guilt

06/20/07

The new Rude Toys CD "Feel No Guilt" is finally here!!!

They just came back from duplication and will be available at shows, on CD baby , and some local music stores - we'll let you know where when we've worked all that out.

This full length CD contains 13 brand new Rude Toys songs covering a wide range of musical styles. It's got something for everyone. You won't be disappointed!

05/17/07 : Rude Toys will be playing at Market Square Day '07!!!

MSD is on Saturday, June 9th . We'll be playing on the Daniel Street stage , in front of the post office from 3 to 4pm .

This is the 30th annual occurrence of this huge outdoor event, and we're very happy to have been invited to perform with so many other great local talents. MSD starts with a 10K road race in the morning and then runs all day. The streets around Market Square are closed to traffic and all sorts of food, vendors and performers fill the downtown. It's always a great time for all ages.

Come early, stay late, have fun, eat good food and hear some great local music!

02/18/07 : Thanks to everyone that came out to see Rude Toys play with The Digbees & Shagbark Friday at Bourbon's in Portsmouth. Turnout was great - a fun times were had by all... Except maybe CJ who crushed the pinky of his left hand working on his snowmobile just before the show. But he still played great right through the pain. What a pro!

Check out the new Rude Toys garments shown one the Merch page. They along with the first Rude Toys CD "Cry Out" and bumper stickers are available for purchase at any Rude Toys show. As for the new CD "Feel No Guilt" - it's still in mastering... a bit over schedule, but it should be done shortly and ready for duplication. So just a bit more patience - it won't be much longer now.

01/21/07 : Well, Rude Toys is back out playing live again with Lupo, our new drummer. We've had a few good shows and look forward to seeing folks at many more. As for the new CD "Feel No Guilt" it has finally been sent out for mastering. The final product should be ready in 6 to 8 weeks depending on duplication turn around time.

What we do have now are new Rude Toys T-shirts, with a brand new design, and the always popular Rude Toys G-strings are back. Be sure to pick some up at the next show.

09/16/06 : Thanks to everyone who came out last night to see Rude Toys along with Mongrel, Kinetic Theory & Mindset X at Milly's in Manchester, NH (sorry almost Now couldn't make it). That was our inaugural gig for new material, and a new lineup. We enjoyed it - hope you did too.

Sorry, no new shows scheduled just yet. Last night's drummer, Bill Blumenthal was only filling in for us on that show - Thanks Bill!!!

The good news is drummer extraordinaire Todd "Lupo" Cantalupo has joined Rude Toys. That means we'll be gigging out again real soon - and hopefully have the CD ready to go... yet more technical delays, but we promise it will be ready soon.

05/02/06 : Work is continuing on the final mastering and duplication of the latest Rude Toys CD "Feel No Guilt" - we hope to have the first copies available in a few weeks.
